What is Physics & Astronomy Student Seminar (PASS)?

P&A Student Seminar (PASS) is a weekly research seminar organized by and for grad students in UCR Physics and Astronomy department. The primary purpose of this seminar is to create a safe place for grad students to present their research works, at the same time, practice how to ask/answer good questions. Thus, faculty members are discouraged to come to the seminar to ensure a less stressful environment for students.

We are having the PASS every Friday (or Wednesday) at 4 pm for the Winter 2023. (Note: some talks might be Virtual depending on the availability of the speaker. Please check our program page or check your physics-grads-open emails if you plan to come.)

Who can submit abstracts?

Everyone who is currently a UCR grad student can submit abstracts. External students from other schools please contact the organizers if you would like to give a talk.

We open for abstract submission starting from May 9, 2022. PASS is a weekly seminar. We will keep PASS running until there's no presenter in the queue.

Abstract submission please go to this page. Current program please see this page.
